The answer varies from business to business, and you are the best person to decide which social networks are best for your business. Here are seven questions to ask yourself to help guide you in determining what will work best for you and your business:

  1. Which social media networks are you currently using? It can be very time consuming to post to your social media networks. If you have too many social media account, you will not be able to give them all the time they need to develop a good following. If you do not have enough, you could be missing out on valuable tools to get more clients.
  2. How often are you posting to your social networks? You should be posting to your social networks daily, or at the very least weekly.
  3. Which ones are working best work for you? After posting regularly for a few weeks, determine which ones are working best for you.
  4. What do you do to increase followers and engagement? You could offer specials, free gifts, referral rewards, etc. to increase the number of followers you have.
  5. What forms of content do you use, such as photos, links, videos, etc.? You can use more than just text. Post video, infographics, links, etc. Give your followers valuable information to keep them as followers and to grow your list of followers.
  6. Have you completed your business profile? Be sure your contact information is up to date and make sure you use the same contact information for all your social media profiles.
  7. Are you using calls-to-action to encourage engagement and sharing? If you ask people to share your content they are more likely to share it on their social network accounts.
