How to Create a Facebook Page:
Since Facebook is the social media network that most people use, all businesses should have a Facebook page. Setting up your Facebook page is easy.
Here’s how to set up a Facebook Page:
First go to Facebook for Business and click on ‘create page’. You will be asked to sign into your personal Facebook account (if you are not already signed in). Your personal account and your Facebook business page will be completely separate.
You will need to choose if your business is a local business, a brand, a company, etc. Choose the one that best fits your business, and fill in the information required. As you go through the process of creating your page, be sure to provide as much information about your business as you can.
After your page is created you will need to add both a cover image and a profile image. You can change your cover image by clicking on the camera icon on the cover image, and choose to upload a new image. Your cover image needs to be 851 x 351 pixels. If you put text on your image, be careful to make sure that the text will not be covered up by your profile image or the text that Facebook ads to the cover area. Keep the text on the image to a minimum.
You can upload a profile picture the same way, by clicking on the camera image on the profile picture. Your profile picture needs to be 180 x 180 pixels. You can use your picture or your logo, or some other image relevant to your business.
Next click on ‘About’ and make sure that all of your business information is correct and complete. If you ever need to change your business information, this is where you will return to make the changes.
Now you can click on ‘Settings’ and make any changes needed on the ‘General’ tab. The ‘Page info’ tab will just take you back to the ‘About’ page, so you can ignore that tab. You can explore the other tabs and make any changes you feel you need to, but most of these can be left as is.
Now you are ready to start posting to your page. Try to post to your page two or three times a day and if you do not have time, get someone else to do it for you. A Facebook page that is not updated regularly will not do your business any good, and you may as well not have a Facebook page.
If you consider your Facebook page a valuable tool to promote your business, you will give it the attention it needs and you will find it a great asset to your business.
