Creating Visual Content:

When you create a post on Facebook, Twitter or on your blog it is a good idea to include visual content in your post. It is proven that posts with visual content are more engaging and will get more shares. Content with relevant images gets 94 percent more views than content without. On Twitter, Tweets with images receive 150 percent more retweets.

Six types of visual content:

  1. Eye-catching, creative photography such as stock photos.
  2. Videos. Post to YouTube, then embed right into a post or share directly to social media.
  3. Screenshots. These can be helpful images of your product or workflow.
  4. Infographics. Usually images with text.
  5. Charts and graphs.
  6. Comics. You could use relevant comic strips or cartoons.

However, take care in choosing your visual content. You want your images to be interesting, engaging, or inspirational. Choose high quality images that get your message across. Appeal to people’s emotions. Your images can be funny or thought provoking.

Infographics are images with text. Create these images in PNG format for higher quality. If you use JPG or other formats, your text could become fuzzy looking.

You can also use content from your followers. If you have followers on your social media accounts, ask them to tell their stories that relate to your brand. Ask them to include a picture along with their story. You will be amazed at how creative people can be.

If you are posting to Facebook, Twitter or other social media platforms make sure you create images that meet the platform’s size requirements. When making videos for YouTube, it is best to create the videos in landscape mode. You don’t need expensive tools to create your images or even your videos.
