Is Your Website Content Working for You?
When creating or updating your website, keep in mind that the text content of your website is the most important part of your website. What you say will either excite people to want to buy from you or drive them away. Also, your text can make your website rank higher in the search engines or lower, depending on content quality.
Your Content and Your Website Visitors
You should write for your users first, not for search engines. If your text is informative and relevant to your website site visitors, it will automatically help with Google ranking. Be sure to include a call to action. Tell your visitors what you want them to do. Excite and appeal to their emotions. You have the solution or product they need, now. Make sure your website is easy to read and easy to navigate. No one wants to read a long lengthy explanation, so use bullets and images to get your point across quickly. Also be sure to check and double check your text for spelling and grammar errors. I can now offer proof reading services if needed. Ask me how!
Your Content and Search Engines
Search engines look for websites that are informative. One of the ways that do this is to look at the amount of text you have on each page. If you page has less than 300 words of text, you will not rank as high as a website with more text. The text content has to be relevant to what you have to offer your visitors. So, a list of cities or a list of keywords will only hurt your site. Make sure you have a site map that is for search engines, not visitors, so the search engines can index your website correctly.
