Make LinkedIn Work for You!
LinkedIn is an important social media network for every business, and especially for a business serving other businesses.
If you have a LinkedIn account, you likely have a personal profile. Be sure to keep it up to date. An active and up to date personal profile can deliver business benefits. It shows people that you are active and that you are an expert in your field.
One of LinkedIn’s rules is that you should only link with people you know. To not encounter any problems, you can accept any invitation (even if you do not know the person), but only ask people you know to connect with you. This way your network will grow.
Once you have your personal profile, create a company page for your business. That way, when you put a link to your LinkedIn account on your website, use your company page, rather than your personal page.
Add videos and photos to your profile and business page to make it more interesting. Give people you know endorsements. This is a great way to support people whose work you value. Post a recommendations for people you’re connected to. A key element of effective networking is to give first. And you never know, someone else may feel compelled to write a recommendation for you.
You can join up to 50 groups. A great way to discover interesting groups is to see what groups your connections are members of. Once you’re a member of a group, join the discussions and look for people you may know but are not yet connected to and invite them to connect.
Update your status as often as possible. You can share quotes, interesting links to articles and websites, and ask questions. This positions you as a resource and keeps your business visible.
Having a LinkedIn account will help to validate your company in the eyes of prospective clients. When you are active, potential clients can meet the people behind your brand or product.
